For my college capstone project, my team was tasked by L3Harris to create a low-level touch gesture recognition library for use on transparent displays in aircraft.
About Multitouch
What is Multitouch?
Multitouch is a low-level touch gesture recognition library written in C for use on transparent displays in aircraft. Our gesture library features a variety of common gestures with up to 5-finger capabilities. Each of these gestures is completely customizable using the library and can be incorporated into any application.
About Transparent Displays
Aircraft cockpits are largely filled with analog sensors. They are complex, cluttered, and take up a lot of room. Transparent displays, which display data on a window or glass, can modernize the pilot's experience, organize the cockpit, and allow for features like AR. Touch gestures optimize the user experience and add to the capabilities of transparent displays.
Demo Application
While our project was heavily back-end focused, we needed to effectively demonstrate our work on Demo Day. We decided that a webpage would best suit our needs.
